Compare NFL Stats: Your Ultimate Guide to Fantasy Football Domination

For years, the intersection of data and football has been a passion. This year, that passion culminates in the release of comprehensive NFL Stats, Comparisons, and Analysis reports, built using Power BI and data directly from NFL.com. If you’re serious about fantasy football, or simply love diving deep into NFL data, these reports are designed for you. My primary goal in creating these reports is to gain a competitive edge in my own fantasy football drafts. As any seasoned fantasy player knows, building a deep and talented roster is key to winning, and these reports are built to help identify valuable players in the mid-to-late rounds by presenting complex data in an easily digestible and navigable format.

This year’s iteration is, in my opinion, the most insightful NFL stats report yet. A key enhancement is the inclusion of player comparisons against league averages, offering immediate clarity on how each player performs relative to their peers.

Furthermore, the Team Dashboard features color-coded Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that quickly illustrate a player’s standing within the league. For example, a running back with a green KPI for Rushing Yards has exceeded the league average by 10% or more. Yellow indicates performance within 10% of the league average (90% to 110%), and red signifies performance below 90% of the league average.

Finally, the analysis reports for each position group now include advanced filters. This allows you to pinpoint players meeting specific statistical thresholds. Want to analyze wide receivers with over 1,000 receiving yards and at least 10 touchdowns? The intuitive slider bars make this advanced analysis simple and efficient.

Explore the Team Dashboard for NFL Stats at a Glance

The Team Dashboard provides a high-level overview of team performance. Located after the title page, this dashboard allows you to filter by team (using the filter box at the top right) and year (covering the past three seasons). Key stats for quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers are presented with the color-coded KPIs, giving you an instant understanding of team strengths and weaknesses.

Quarterback Analysis and Comparisons: Find Your Fantasy QB

The Quarterback Analysis and Quarterback Comparison reports are your tools for identifying the best and most undervalued quarterbacks. The Analysis page helps you distinguish top-tier QBs from those who are simply above average, providing a spectrum of quarterback performance metrics.

Once you’ve identified a shortlist of potential quarterbacks, the QB Comparisons page allows you to directly compare two players side-by-side across a range of key statistics. This detailed comparison is crucial for making informed decisions in your fantasy draft or trades.

Running Back Analysis and Comparisons: Identify Rushing Leaders

The Running Back (RB) Analysis and RB Comparisons reports mirror the QB reports but focus specifically on running back performance. The scatter plot within these reports offers an insightful visual comparison of rushing yards versus receiving yards, highlighting players with balanced skill sets. For example, you can easily see the statistical similarities between players like Howard, Murray, and McCoy in terms of combined rushing and receiving contributions.

The RB Comparison page allows for a direct stat comparison of running backs, crucial for drafting and trade decisions in fantasy football.

Receiver Analysis and Comparisons: Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

The Receiver Analysis and Comparisons reports cover both wide receivers and tight ends, providing a comprehensive view of pass-catching talent. These reports are essential for evaluating the receiving corps of NFL teams and identifying top fantasy football receiver options.

Dive deeper into tight end performance specifically with the dedicated tight end stats view.

Compare receiver and tight end stats directly to make crucial decisions for your fantasy team.

Kicker Analysis and Comparisons: Don’t Forget Special Teams

Finally, the Kicker Analysis and Comparisons reports provide valuable insights into kicker performance. While often overlooked, kickers can be crucial in fantasy football, especially in close matchups. These reports ensure you have the data to make informed decisions about your special teams.

Compare kicker stats to find the most reliable leg for your fantasy roster.
